The first IMMA MONUMENT STONE FAIR
- 2003 , an international event of par excellence,
is being organized by Indian Monument Manufacturers
Association (IMMA) in Chennai, India
from 23rd to 26th January, 2003. IMMA is a non
profit organization representing Cross section
of Manufacturer in the Monument Industry
in India. This
Exhibition is being co- Sponsored by Capexil
and other state Governments of India..
India is the largest producer and exporter of Monument
in the world and well over 70% of the contribution comes
from Tamil Nadu Region. Therefore it is a natural choice to
hold the exhibition in Chennai, the Capital of Tamil Nadu
state where the fair will present right opportunities

Indian Monument Manufacturers Association organized an International
Exhibition, namely IMMA Monumen t Stone Fair 2003 at Chennai Trade Centre,
Chennai (Madras), India from January 23-26, 2003 for display of granite
stone mounments, consumables, related machineries etc.,
Apart from USA, Japan, Europe and China, this is the first time an Exhibition
was conducted for a single product, viz. granite monuments in the Indian
soil. This is also the first time that a Central Minister, Mr.Arun Shourie,
Minister for Industry & Disinvestment, Govt. of India, visited the
Fair, went round the Exhibition and had a first hand knowledge of the
problems being faced by the granite industry.
The Fair is a great effort put-in by the organizers to give exposure
to Indian Stone Monuments. The Fair has focused on the needs and offerings
of the Monument industry. The venue of the exhibition covererd 6,248 Sq.M.
of the air-conditioned space within Hall 1 and 2. Hall No.1 is exclusively
for Monuments whereas Hall No.2 is for Monuments, consumables, spares
etc., Total number of stalls in the both the halls is 264. Nearly 100
exporters of granite monuments, related machinery manufacturers etc.,
participated in the Fair.
Presidents, Vice-Presidents and Secretaries of the Monument Associations
of various countries were invited. Foregin buyers/delegates/visitors numbering
about 300 from countries such as USA, Germany, UK, Japan, Australia, New
Zealand, China, Singapore, France, Belgium and other European countries
visited the Fair and evinced keen interest on the monuments displayed
in the Fair. The products displayed were of highest in quality, workmanship
and technical aspect. They were highly pleased with the exhibition and
booked substanial orders during the Fair. From the cross section of opinion
gathered from the exhibitors/visitors/foreign delagates who have visited
the Fair, we understand that the Fair was a 'resounding success'.
In this connection, we are glad to inform you that we have decided to
hold the next IMMA STONE FAIR from January 20-23, 2005 at Chennai Trade
Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai (Madras), India

We, the Indian Monument Manufacturers Association (IMMA), Chennai, represent
a cross section of monument manufacturers. IMMA is the voice of the
monument industry and it represents its members at the Ministries, Govt.
Offices, trade bodies, Associations etc. on all matters that affect
the industry.
IMMA is organizing the second edition of IMMA Stone Fair 2005 from January
20-23, 2005 at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai-600 089.
The products that will be on display are, granite monuments, tomb stones,
cemetery stones, markers, flower vauses, hickery markers, open books,
closed books, accessories, consumables and related machineries. The
venue has two in-built fully air-conditioned halls of international
standard. A number of foreign companies are participating in the Fair.
Buyers/visitors from USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Japan, China, France,
Germany, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Finland,
Singapore, Australia and New Zealand are attending the Fair.
We are proud to add that a similar Fair was organized by us during January
2003 and it proved to be a tremendous success and it was acclaimed by
foreigners who visited the Fair that it was a world class Exhibition
and best so far in Asia.

IMMA
STONE FAIR 2005, a magnificent Fair - Specialized on Monuments was
organized by Indian Monument Manufacturers Association from January
20-23, 2005 at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai. This was
the second edition of the Stone Fair organized in the Indian Soil
by the Indian Monument Manufacturers Association.
Stone
Monuments make an integral part of Indian culture. People have been
using this as an effective medium to express their thoughts and emotions
with great skill. The monuments are also used for War Memorial.
The
Fair is a great effort put-in by the organizers to give exposure to
Indian Stone Monuments. The Fair focused on the needs and offerings
of the Monument industry. The First Fair conducted by the association
during Jan 2003 evoked excellent response and it was acclaimed as
one of the best fairs conducted in the International arena.
The
venue of the exhibition covers 6,248 Sq.Mtr. of the air-conditioned
space within Hall 1 and 2. Total number of stalls in the both the
halls is 219. All the stalls were booked. Foreign companies from Spain,
Italy, China, Japan, participated as exhibitors in the Fair. Buyers
and visitors from USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Japan, China, France,
Germany, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Austria, Sweden Denmark,
Finland, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand attended the Fair.
The exhibits displayed were of high quality workmanship and this aspect
was appreciated by all the dignitaries, buyers and visitors.
Mr.
Nainar Nagendran, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Govt. of Tamil
Nadu presided over the function and His Excellency Mr. Richard D.Haynes,
Consul General, Consulate of the United States of America, Chennai,
declared open the Fair. Mrs. Sabitha Reddy, Hon’ble Minster for Mines
& Geology, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad declared open the
Hall No.2. Mr. R.Veeramani, Chairman of IMMA Stone Fair 2005 delivered
the welcome address and Mr. M.D.Venkatesan, President of IMMA detailed
the activities of Indian Monument Manufacturers Association.
The valedictory function was held on 22 January 2005 and Mr. R.Veeramani,
Chairman, IMMA Stone Fair 2005 welcomed the dignitaries. His
Excellency Mr. Masayuki Tsuchikawa, Consul, Consulate General of Japan,
Dr. Dietrich Kebschull, Director, Indo-German Trade Export Promotion
Project, New Delhi and Mr. Francisco Pardo, President, Spanish Funerary
Art Association, Spain were felicitated. Mr. Anil Taneja, Editor,
Litos, Spain delivered a special address on the occasion. Mr.
K.Badrinarayanan, Vice Chairman, IMMA Stone Fair 2005 distributed
mementos to the organizers, sponsors and other dignitaries and proposed
a vote of thanks.

IMMA STONE FAIR 2007, the
third international stone monument Fair is being organized by Indian
Monument Manufacturers Association from January 4-7, 2007 at Chennai
Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai-600 089, India.
Stone Monuments make an
integral part of Indian culture. People have been using this as an
effective medium to express their thoughts and emotions with great
skill. The Indian Monument Industry made its first export to UK in
early 1930 and it will be completing 75 years in 2006. It is a long
historical development that from the days of the monument made from
a hand polishing machine, today we have computer controlled machine
with all facilities and from hand crafted workmanship, the industry
has grown to the hi-tech era in these days.
The Fair is a great effort
put-in by the organizers to give exposure to the beautiful Indian
Stone Monuments. The Fair will focus on the creativity and offerings
of the Monument industry. The two Fairs conducted by the association
during the years 2003 and 2005 evoked excellent response and it was
acclaimed as one of the best fairs conducted in the International
arena. Foreign companies from Italy, Spain, Japan, China are participating
as exhibitors in the Fair. Buyers and Visitors from USA, Canada, UK,
Ireland, Japan, China, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Spain,
